Executive Summary

When Chevron brought me onboard, they were facing a backlog of SharePoint projects that needed a turnkey solution. My role was to serve as the SharePoint Sherpa, guiding the way from chaos to order and providing the technical leadership the Solutions Development Center was craving.

Project Description

As someone who's navigated the SharePoint ecosystem for years, I was handed the keys to the kingdom—SharePoint versions 2010, 2013, 2016, and even SharePoint Online - Office 365. Armed with advanced tools like Visual Studio and SharePoint Designer, I got down to the business of shaping up the organization's SharePoint landscape.

Task/Challenge

One of the key milestones was when I spearheaded about 70% of custom development projects, flexing my ASPX and Scripting muscles. I also took design mockups and saw them through to full-scale deployment, launching six new applications that seamlessly integrated into Chevron's workflow.

Solution

My role went beyond the bits and bytes; I was the bridge between the tech and business departments. Translating business objectives into technology solutions was all in a day's work, and my efforts paid off by significantly boosting operational efficiency.

Tools Used

The challenges at Chevron were multifaceted due to the different SharePoint versions in use, but my approach was holistic. I zeroed in on prioritized projects, knocking them off the backlog one by one. I also set up best practices to ensure that future projects wouldn’t face the same bottlenecks.
