DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

PORTFOLIO PROJECT # 29

  • Consultant Name: Sousouni Bajis | LinkedIn
  • Project Title: SharePoint Development for the Department of Defense - DMDC
  • Role:  Lead SharePoint Developer & Delivery Manager
  • Duration:  32 months (143 weeks)

Executive Summary

Working entirely remotely, I was the go-to for all things SharePoint, orchestrating a major migration while maintaining the utmost confidentiality and data security standards required for national defense.

Project Description

Handling this role from a remote location, I honed in on developing complex Nintex workflows across SharePoint 2010-2013 and SharePoint Online platforms. This wasn’t a straightforward lift-and-shift; it required delicate surgical precision to redesign, redevelop, and reimplement the workflows, ensuring they met the DoD’s stringent security protocols. From concept to completion, my focus was on secure, efficient, and scalable solutions.

Task/Challenge

Let's talk about User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for a moment. Conducting UAT remotely with a team of 10+ users isn’t for the faint-hearted. Crafting comprehensive test plans, I led the UAT phase to ensure the functionality and user-friendliness of the applications. This not only validated the solutions but also brought in real user feedback to further optimize the workflow.

Solution

Amidst all this, keeping the lines of communication wide open was key. I reported directly to Project Managers every week, making sure we were all singing from the same hymn sheet. Updates weren't just about status; they were filled with insights into how the migration and redevelopment were advancing, flagging any potential hiccups before they became roadblocks.

Tools Used

With nearly three years under my belt in this remote role, I didn’t just meet deadlinesβ€”I crushed them. Working on mission-critical projects sharpened my focus, and the stakes couldn’t have been higher. I used an arsenal of tools, including InfoPath and Visual Studio, to craft solutions that were bulletproof yet flexible, showcasing my hands-on expertise in SharePoint and Nintex workflow development.
