Project Description

As the Architect & Lead Developer for Hart Schaffner and Marx, my role encompassed the orchestration of a MOSS 2007 project aimed at constructing an extensive Intranet system. I managed a team of developers and was the driving force behind the technical innovations required to convert Mainframe reports into SharePoint-friendly formats. I also introduced advanced .NET-SharePoint integrations, enabling automated PDF creation, uploading, and metadata-based security applications right within SharePoint.

Task/Challenge

The primary challenge involved unifying three distinct business divisions with their unique requirements and existing systems. The transformation also included converting legacy Mainframe reports into a SharePoint-compatible format. To address these complexities, I led a team that utilized a blend of .NET Windows Servers, SharePoint Web parts, and Web Services, achieving a seamless integration between Mainframe and SharePoint.

Solution

Pioneered a solution involving .NET Windows Servers, SharePoint Web parts, and Web Services to convert Mainframe reports into SharePoint-friendly formats. I also developed and deployed advanced .NET-SharePoint integrations for PDF handling, automating the creation, uploading, and application of metadata-based security protocols. The project culminated in the successful adoption rate of over 90% within the first three months, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
