Project Description

As a Developer and Team Lead at JPMorgan and Chase, I was responsible for a critical project that involved migrating several legacy business applications to SharePoint. I was at the forefront of designing the solutions architecture for the conversion processes that involved various databases like Access, SQL, and Oracle. I set up development servers, SQL Stored Procedures, and SSIS packages to facilitate a smooth integration into SharePoint.

Task/Challenge

The migration posed complexities due to the different legacy systems, each with its own challenges. These systems used a variety of database systems like Access, SQL, and Oracle, and the task was to integrate these seamlessly into SharePoint without disrupting business operations. To tackle this, I led a team to re-architect these systems using SharePoint, deploying SQL Stored Procedures and SSIS packages for effective data integration.

Solution

I managed the deployment of development servers to mimic the production environment, reducing deployment risks and enabling rigorous testing. We also developed custom SharePoint web parts to replicate the functionality of the legacy systems, ensuring a smoother transition for the end-users. The project was successfully completed, setting the groundwork for future upgrades and migrations.
